The words of Jesus from John 14:27:
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
Notes from my NIV Study Bible
The end result of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives is deep and lasting peace. This peace is confident assurance in any circumstance; with Christ's peace, we have no need to fear the present or the future.
In all circumstances, approach God with gratitude for the things we have to be thankful for - and there is always something to be thankful for. Then talk to God about what's going on in your life and involve him with how you're feeling and what you need from him. He is a father who wants to hear from us. Paul sums this up very well in Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Another note from my NIV Study Bible
If your life is full of stress, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with Christ's peace.
My Prayer of Peace for you
God, I pray for my family, friends, and acquaintances today. We are all facing much uncertainty and many are facing hurt and loss during this time. Please grant us each your peace in our hearts as we choose to rely and depend fully on you and the people you've put in our lives. Thank you for the peace you've given me, I never want to live my life again without your deep, lasting peace in my life! Amen!
Make it a great day by choosing to rely upon God's strength and peace today.
